George, Harry & Karen, Cesar & Virginia, Leonard & Tammy, & Ken & I took a ride to Calistoga for lunch on May 19, 2007. At 9:00 am we left Concord & went to Cordelia to meet George. From there, George led us north along many back roads & along the west side of lake Berryessa, where we made a few stops along the way & we also got to see an eagle's nest with a young one in the nest.
We then rode through some beautiful hills & valleys to Middle where we took a short rest stop. We were getting hungry and we decided to head on out to Calistoga to the BBQ place that George had been telling us about. And he was right, the food was terrific, it is just a small place. They do their BBQing outside & the Tri-Tip sandwiches just melted in your mouth some even went for seconds.
After eating way too much we headed south on the Silverado trail down through Napa, then southeast on Hwy 12 back to Cordelia, where George left us & we went on down Hwy 680 to Concord & our homes.
What a great day, sunny & warm (not hot) with a great group - what more could one ask? Now we are waiting for next week & the state rally in Mariposa. Come on everybody & join us for more fun & rides (up to Yosemite) & more.
