POLAR BEAR RIDE ‘10
Howdy folks
New Year’s Day finally got here so we could go on our Polar Bear ride. I got up & looked out the window & it was raining, so I figured "yep" this must be the morning.
By the time I got up, dressed & out to my trike the rain had stopped & I rode over to Antioch on hwy 4 to C.J.'s just west of the Antioch bridge & by the time the rest of our group (over ten) arrived, the weather was real nice.
We headed out east over the Antioch bridge on hwy 108 to hwy 12. We met George & Ella there and continued on hwy 12 to the marina. It was about half way between Rio Vista & Flag City. We had gone there several years ago & now someone else has taken over & remodeled it was really a nice place to again meet our friends on the first day of the new year "2010"
There was a good crowd & of course chapter P had maybe the largest group. We took two large tables. I didn't count or get all the names, but most old & several new members were there.
After a nice brunch of scrambled eggs, link sausage, bacon, potatoes & biscuits & gravy, we had the drawings for many door prizes. George complained that he didn't win anything & then guess who won the 50/50 drawing? Yep, George & it was in the three numbers, so everyone left the gathering happy & the sun even came out for our ride home.
Leonard apparently hurt his back & missed the ride. Get well quick Leonard so you can be ready for our next one.
